Vision and Mission

Our Vision

Serving as the cultural, economic and social hub of Upper Bucks County, the Quakertown downtown district enhances the extraordinary quality of life and community-oriented nature of the town by providing thriving and vital commercial, recreational and cultural areas and activities which serve the residents of the Borough of Quakertown, the Quakertown Community School District and surrounding communities.

The vitality of these community attributes can be further developed using the following elements:

  • Transit Village Environment: With a focus on public transportation, including both bus and commuter rail service, centered around an historic and renovated train station, Downtown Quakertown serves as a convenient and attractive debarkation point for those employed both north and south of the community.
  • Regional Recreational Environment: Capitalizing on the high-quality and numerous, outdoor, sporting facilities available within the community, Downtown Quakertown provides related recreational facilities, including the goods and services necessary to insure that residents of the region, whether families or individuals, can take full advantage of the local, leisure-time opportunities.
  • Heritage Development Environment: The central business district actively supports and participates in the development and implementation of plans and programs that both define and interpret the important contributions to the history of the region for the education and enjoyment of both residents and visitors. This includes the development and marketing of historic and cultural assets. This heritage development element is strengthened by a strong commitment to visitor readiness and related retail opportunities, including a vibrant “antiques district.”
  • Theater District Environment: With The Main Street Theatre serving as a catalyst for related development, Downtown Quakertown promotes and supports the development, enhancement and maintenance of an active and high-quality arts district through the extension of programs and cooperative promotional and marketing efforts that encourages the growth of the local arts community and thereby enhances the communities’ quality of life.

Our Mission
